To travel to Nepal,
Indians do not require a Nepalese visa, however, they may need a passport for
identification purposes. According to the Nepalese Immigration department,
Indian nationals must carry any of these documents to enter Nepal.
- Passport Or,
- Election Commission Card
To
travel by air, Adhar card (UID) or certificate of Registration issued by the
Indian Embassy in Nepal, is not acceptable as travel documents and you must
hold a valid national passport. An emergency certificate issued by Indian
Embassy in Nepal, however, will be valid for one trip back to India from Nepal.
Thus,
If you do not have a passport, you can use the election commission card to
enter Nepal via road.
